Woven fiberglass cloths are common for marine & composite construction and repair. Light weight plain weave fibre glass cloths can provide a smooth finish and are excellent for producing a waterproofing layer over wood or other surfaces when combined with resin. The very light weight woven fibre glass cloths are popular with model aircraft builders. Heavier cloths will provide greater strength and overall rigidity. Woven fibreglass cloth are commonly used in surfboard manufacture and repair as they are light weight and almost transparent when wet out with resin.
